TRAINER

Tom Lexa

Growing up Tom was never the athletic type. While he did try out for some sports during school he found that he was more at home playing them while on the couch through a controller in his hand. He eventually joined the U.S. Army, where he is currently on Active Duty as an Information Technology Specialist in a local Army Reserve unit. He found that physical fitness, while a requirement of his job, was something that could be enjoyed after he was introduced to CrossFit by another member of his unit while he was struggling to recover from a lower back surgery. After finding CrossFit and seeing that the back surgery was not something that needed to limit him (yes, his goal is a 2.5x bodyweight deadlift, although he has a long way to go), he dove head first into learning everything he could so he could share his new found passion with others. He also believes that it is sad that the IT guy is one of the most in “shape” people in an Army unit and his mission is to change that.

Currently, in addition to being the fitness trainer for his Army unit, he spends time helping with the Operation Sheepdog Classes and training others when his job allows. Tom has also recently spent time with Dr. Romanav to become certified as a CrossFit Running instructor.
